Short info: My use of 3D printed cards, or plates with raised areas that add pressure to each fold of fabric that denies the Dye access to those areas. To give it a name I merged the words Dye and Denied = Dyenied.
I will be sharing everything about this soon, still working out so many issues, and finding happy mistakes. Will share Files need to 3D print for personal use for free, then some sort of commercial version (same files) that could be used to sell.
Right now just have parts for LG-XL size shirts. Once I have my designs working I will make sizes for all sizes of shirts.
SO I have a lot to do, rather than sitting on this for months while I work this out, I will be posting as I do things, then clean it all up with a nice post once best practices are figured out.
ID description codes
G1 = Gildan all cotton 6.1oz, best quality and 100 dye able. This will be the shirts i use going forward. ( current place i get)
F1 = Fruit of Loom 5.1oz , all cotton but string used to sew seems will not dye, cheaper good shirt. (current place i get).
H1 = Hanes all cotton Beefy-T
NFS = Not For Sale
They also have a hemp Shirt that costs a lot more but i think is worth it. hemp link
They also have all sorts of other clothing if you see something else.
Currently I running through ideas, planned and not planned mistakes. Several times did not apply all the dye I had planned..
Every shirt is 100% Cotton, some may have Seam thread that is not. Been through the washing machine with max 5 shirts at a time At least 3 times, hand rinsed several times, Dried twice, then I spend 1 – 6+ hours per shirt one on one. I’m not really interested in cheap quick designs. I can take orders for sizes and deigns shown here. Please note every shirt will be different, and happy mistakes are good.

Currently making the prototypes in LG and XL sized shirts, once designs complete I will 3D print the parts the all the shirts sizes.
Currency The size is 140mm x 25mm inserts and 90mm x 25mm for galaxy versions. Total thickness of the layers of folded fabric require different sized 3D printed parts.
Also currently only doing the ICE way of tie-dying as this will seep everywhere and I need to control the flow with my designs, I expect just using liquid will make this insane.
Dual Mixing Spirals Bar: Designed for the sole purpose of having different colors on each side as they spiral around each other then mix in center. (LG, XL 140mm x 25mm, 3 segment)
Peace Symbol Bar: Negative space Peace symbol (LG, XL 140mm x 25mm, 3 segment)
Galaxy One: 90mm x 25mm center “sun” with echos pointed ends
Galaxy Two: 90mm x 25mm center “sun” with echos rounded ends (1st try curing)
Dots One: Test for whats to come (LG, XL 140mm x 25mm, 3 segment) (1st try starts today)
Mandala One: 1st test posted (#34), going through 4 layers of fabric for these parts, may be better with just 2 layers, dyeing today to test.
